Fontaines D.C. pull out of Latitude after in-band Covid outbreak

Fontaines D.C. have been forced pull out of this year’s Latitude Festival after a band member tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, the band wrote: “We regret to announce that during routine testing, a band member tested positive for Covid-19 this morning. Band and crew are now self-isolating.”

Adding: “Therefore we sadly have to cancel our show in Lincoln tonight and our appearance at Latitude Festival this Saturday. We were really looking forward to it but we will see you all again soon.

Before also adding, for those who had tickets to the gig in Lincoln which also had to be cancelled: “Please contact your ticket provider for information on refunds for Lincoln.”

While many fans attending the festival will be disappointed, the news represents the inherent insecurity surrounding live music at present times, with many other artists, such as Alfie Templeton, also having to cancel forthcoming awards.

And remember, the flip side to this disappointing news, is that Fontaines D.C.’s new record should be coming soon, and they’ve promised “disco vibes”.
