Lindsey Buckingham has returned to the studio in a solo capacity for the first time since leaving Fleetwood Mac (again) for his seventh studio album.
Buckingham, now 71-years-old, took to Twitter to announce, “My new self-titled album is one I’ve been intending to get out for a couple of years now, but on more than one occasion, unforeseen circumstances necessitated a postponement of plans.”
Adding, “Now that we’re back in gear, I’m thrilled to finally be sharing new music with my listeners!”
He also confirmed that the first single, ‘I Don’t Mind’, is currently available to listen to and pre-order in physical form, as well as announcing a string of US tour dates starting in Milwaukee September with tickets set to go on sale this Friday (June 11).
The full self-titled record is due out on September 17th and is currently available to pre-order. By the direction of ‘I Don’t Mind’, it sounds very much like it will be a crowd-pleaser as Buckingham returns to a Tango in the Night inspired sound for the lead single.
As of yet, it is unclear whether Buckingham will perform anywhere outside of the US as part of the tour, however, there is a gap between his September and December dates which might be a positive hint.
For now you can check out the new single, below.
