Miles Kane teases Last Shadow Puppet songs for new tour

Miles Kane, rock and roll solo artist extraordinaire, will be hitting the road in the summer for a few dates on the forthcoming ‘Revive Live Tour’ put together by Music Venue Trust and the National Lottery, which will also feature large-scale grassroots concerts for the likes of Sam Fender, The Magic Gang, Frank Turner, and Sir Tom Jones.

Ahead of those August concerts, Kane took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce the impending release of new music and query his followers as to what songs he should play live. While keeping it a little vague, the first tweet surreptitiously asked: “Is it time??”.

The second tweet pretty much just came out and said what we all were thinking: “Is he talking about the Last Shadow Puppets?” The answer, of course, is yes, he was in fact referencing playing material from his supergroup with Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner.

“The big guy”, it seems to imply, is Turner. As if to stoke the flames of the fire even more, Kane decided to cap off his tweets with the message “Great songs deserve life.”

The Last Shadow Puppets have always been a fun, but secondary, concern for those involved, which mainly revolves around Kane, Turner, producer James Ford, and American bassist Zach Dawes. Even the band’s touring lineup is stacked, with elusive indie singer-songwriter Stephen Fretwell and Dawes’ Mini Mansions bandmate Tyler Packford joining the band for certain live gigs and tours.

The band have put out two pretty good albums, 2008’s The Age of the Understatement and 2016’s Everything You’ve Come to Expect. Following this pattern, were due for a new Shadow Puppets album 2024, so mark your calendars now.

If you’re planning on seeing Kane at any of his upcoming shows, perhaps it’s worth refreshing yourself on some of the Last Shadow Puppets songs he’s been mentioning. Check those out down below.
