Watch Billie Eilish cover ‘I’m In The Mood For Love’

In their BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge set, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas took on a cover of Julie London’s 1955 classic ‘I’m In The Mood for Love.’ It featured alongside a wealth of live versions of songs such as ‘I Didn’t Change My Number’, ‘NDA,’ and ‘Getting Older.’

Eilish gave a stripped-back version of the jazz standard for her Live Lounge performance, with her brother Finneas providing accompaniment on acoustic guitar.

The classic song ‘I’m In The Mood For Love’, the classic song was first published way back in 1935 and became a hit after it was performed by Frances Langford the same year. Since then, it has been covered by a dizzying range of artists. However, it is perhaps Julie London’s 1955 rendition that remains the most enduring.

Eilish has been publicising her new album Happier Than Ever, which dropped last week and has since been described as containing some of her best work to date. The collection of mature and ambitious tracks is certainly a validation of Eilish’s status as one of the world’s biggest pop artists. It is full of variety, swelling choruses and deeply personal lyrics. It is also outselling every other UK top-10 album by a mile.

Asides from her brilliant new album, Eilish has also released a trailer to a new animated live concert film for Disney+. Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles will feature a ‘Disneyfied’ version of the singer performing some of her best-known tracks. The film will be Eilish’s second streaming release this year, alongside her documentary The World’s A Little Blurry, which was released back in February. Blimey, Eilish certainly knows how to stay busy.
